TALKING TO YOUR HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL ABOUT MULTICENTRIC CASTLEMAN’S DISEASE
It may feel scary and confusing to find out that you have a serious illness such as Multicentric Castleman’s Disease. You may have a lot of questions and concerns. Talking openly and honestly with your doctor, and taking an active role in your treatment, may help you feel more informed about and in control of your illness.
Here are some steps you can take to prepare for your medical appointments:
- Bring a pen and paper so you can take notes.
- Consider bringing along a friend or family member so you will have help keeping track of the information you get.
- Bring a list of all your questions. The tool we have created to help make sure you get the information you need is called the My Questions Checklist.
QUESTIONS TO ASK WHEN TALKING TO YOUR DOCTOR
To help you remember to ask your healthcare professional about some of the things you may want to discuss, we’ve created the My Questions Checklist. Read through the list, and check off the questions you want to ask. At the bottom of the list, there is space for you to add any additional questions you might have.
When you are finished, please select the button that says “Save PDF.” You can save your completed My Questions Checklist to your computer or electronic device, and then print it out to take with you to your appointment.
